Safe Haven Foundation and The Smile Outreach Foundation Sign MoU to Strengthen Survivor Support Systems

On May 9, 2025, Safe Haven Foundation (SHF) and The Smile Outreach Foundation (TSO) formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening survivor support systems across Nigeria.

The Smile Outreach Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on adolescent health, women’s empowerment, and youth agency for social change. This partnership aligns with SHF’s commitment to advancing justice, protection, and healing for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

The MoU sets the framework for collaboration in three key areas:
🔹 Helpline integration to ensure survivors receive timely, coordinated responses.
🔹 Enhanced referral pathways for access to legal, psychosocial, and health services.
🔹 Joint advocacy and visibility efforts to amplify survivor voices and promote systemic change.

Rooted in shared values of empowerment, protection, and justice, this partnership marks a meaningful step forward in building a unified, survivor-centered ecosystem of care. Together, SHF and TSO are committed to ensuring that every survivor is heard, supported, and empowered.

The MoU was signed by the Founders of the two organizations: Prof. Fatima Waziri-Azi for SHF and Bidemi Adedire for TSO.
